Subway Surfers 9 Years Running Contest Entry
Subway Surfers launched a contest in May 2021 with the #9yearsrunning what encourage me to participate in. I've played the game in the past and enjoyed, what I appreciated the most was the diversity of characters available which keep me motivate to play because they were unlock-able additionally the game art style bright, urban-themed, very colourful and playful caught my eye.
This is Pixie, as you can tell by her name she is a fairy-girl, inspired by the 2000's her bright colour palette and the layered outfit trend as she loves experimenting with fashion, tends to use bright colours and combine different textures.
A back view from Pixie, she has a pair of wings and star-shaped antennae. Even though she has wings she would rather slide on her surfboard than use them to move around the city.
Here some colour tests, the right one feels harmonic yet a little bit pale which wasn't the idea I had on mind, as the 2000's where a really colourful era when it comes about fashion, toys and tech I felt that a little bit of saturation and contrast between the clothing would look great. The right colour test had that brightness I was looking for, however the colours gave me more 80's vibes rather than 2000's.
